According to data from the National Student Clearinghouse Research Center, 46.1% of students who enrolled in the fall of 2009 did not complete their college program, a decline of 2.1 percentage points from that of the previous year. In other words, nearly half of all students who start a degree do not manage to complete it – and that figure is rising.
