
About the Described and Captioned Media Program
The DCMP provides services designed to support and improve the academic achievement of students with disabilities. We partner with top educational and television content creators and distributors to make media accessible and available to these students.
Free Membership – Access to more than just media
Families and school personnel (including those in training) who have at least one student with a disability can sign up for free membership.

Standards-aligned videos with high-quality captions and audio description.

Create lessons and assign videos to managed Student Accounts.
Training Videos
Educator and sign language training videos for school personnel and families.
DCMP offers thousands of accessible educational videos, teaching tools, and training resources.
Thousands of accessible educational videos
Families and educators who have at least one student with a disability can access thousands of educational videos with high-quality audio description and captions, and many with American Sign Language, including videos for educators and interpreters in training.

CREATE AND MANAGE STUDENT ACCOUNTS AND CLASSES
K-12 students under 18 years of age are currently not eligible for their own DCMP membership. However, adult members can create Student Accounts for them.
CREATE CLIPS, LESSONS, AND QUIZZES
Clips and Lessons allow you to create clips from DCMP videos, and then use those clips as stand-alone videos or as part of a Lesson. A Lesson can include clips, full videos, quizzes, text, and user-submitted files.

Classroom, Remote, and Hybrid Learning With DCMP Accessible Videos
Teachers and parents across the country are taking advantage of DCMP’s resources for classroom, remote, and hybrid learning. For educators who have at least one student with a disability, DCMP can help ensure that educational videos are accessible for students learning in the classroom and at home.

Continuing Education and Professional Development
DCMP offers several online courses, including many that offer RID and ACVREP credit. Courses for students are also available.
