Presenter: Deidre Dobbels, M.S. CCC-SLP
Description: Are you looking for ways to authentically target and encourage a variety of communication intentions for your students who use AAC (and not spend endless hours lesson planning)? Are you ready to create a year’s worth of adaptable meaningful, creative, and effective lesson plans that help your students grow in their self-advocacy and personhood? If so, this active, hands-on, and joyful workshop is for you! Participants will take a deep dive into the National Joint Commission’s Communication Bill of Rights, learning how to best support students in realizing their full communication potential through engaging activities, then use those skills to create 52+ lesson plans and activities to use with students aged 3-22. Information on goal writing, data collection and dynamic evaluation will also be covered during this highly productive workshop.
